On Thursday, American Express and Grammy-nominated artist Teddy Swims delivered an exclusive Album Preview Event for Swims’ new album, I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Pt 2) at Webster Hall. American Express card members were granted early access to the event — which included fun photo opportunities, themed cocktails and sweet treats — as well as exclusive merchandise.

The venue featured a set recreating Swims’ I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Pt 2) album cover, where fans could pose and recreate Swims’ photo. The event offered two pieces of Teddy Swims merch exclusive to American Express card members, who were also given a free Teddy Swims tote bag with any merch purchase.

The most popular feature of the event was a series of orange rotary phones that played a heartfelt message from Swims to his fans. Guests were then invited to record their own messages for Swims using the phones, which will be compiled into vinyl for Swims to listen to.

The bars were fully stocked, including specialty cocktails inspired by Swims’ Music. Cocktails like “Guilty” and “Northern Lights” played homage to the new tunes on his album. The candy store “Lil Sweet Treat” treated guests to artisanal candies that matched the orange and brown color palette of Swims’ album cover.

As ticket holders filed into the theatre, Swims’ new album played over the speakers. The party began around 9 p.m. when Swims came onstage to serenade the audience. His energy was electric, and Swims’ brassy, soulful voice filled the venue. He played new songs from the album like “Northern Lights” and “Bad Dreams.” Swims also treated the audience to some of his classic songs like “The Door” before closing the night out with his most popular song, “Lose Control.”

As Swims left the stage, he thanked his audience for celebrating with him.

“You changed my life,” Swims said as he waved to his fans. “I love you.”
