For a limited time, the Amalfi Coast has landed in Los Angeles. Conca Del Sogno, the beach club restaurant known for its scenery and fresh sea-to-table cuisine, has transported its essence to Norah in West Hollywood. This pop-up residency, running from February 1st to March 3rd, presents an experience to enjoy Italian flavors and embrace the spirit of the Mediterranean without leaving the city.
We enjoyed a five-course meal, showcasing the pop-up’s highlights. The appetizers recommenced started with Calamari e Zucchine Fritti: perfectly crispy squid and zucchini paired with a refreshing lemon garlic aioli. This light and savory dish was a fresh and salty way to start the experience.
Next came the Tartare di Tonno, a vibrant tuna tartare featuring green apple, lemon, and basil. Despite a touch of oiliness, the dish maintained its key fresh fish flavor with hints of lime, lemon, garlic, and raw freshness.
Before diving into the rest of your Mediterranean feast, cleanse your palate with a selection of inspired cocktails. Savor the Amalfi Negroni, where Malfy Gin’s citrus zest takes on the classic, or indulge in the Sgroppino, a light blend of Malfy Gin Limone and lemon sorbet. Craving more? For the main course, Spaghetti alla Nerano and a side of Rucola. The pasta, starring perfectly cooked spaghetti, zucchini, basil, black pepper and pecorino, stole the show. The roasted eggplant added a smoky depth, creating a comforting flavor. The Rucola salad, with its juicy tomatoes and oily base, offered a refreshing side to the table.
Finally, dessert arrived – think giant Ferrero Rocher – a custard filled pastry covered in chocolate and nut shells. This airy and fluffy dessert wasn’t overly sweet and could easily be shared.
Norah’s modern interior made the experience even more notable. With unique shaped light fixtures and candles that added a mellow aura. The marbled bar showcased a wide selection of drinks, contributing to the earthy and vibrant atmosphere with trees and vines – all accompanied by a DJ, bringing the dining experience all together.
