Concert Review: Logic Takes Fans Through Space at Terminal 5

I was always a fan of Logic’s music, but never once did I expect him to be such an amazing live performer, and keeping true to the words of Rakim, had the crowd moving all night.

It’s one thing to bring energy to the stage; that’s a relatively easy thing to do. However, Logic did something entirely different. The moment he stepped onto stage, backlit by a collage of scenes from Akira, Logic’s attitude was all love: love for what he was doing and love for the people that came out to vibe with him.

Despite having a curfew, Logic didn’t rush his songs, taking time to pause and freestyle, or slow down a verse and kick it acapella. His interaction with the crowd was impressively sincere, taking time to talk to a few random individuals, and sing happy birthday to a fan. The attitude Logic displayed during the night was that of a grateful fan getting to live out his dreams.

The emcee somehow balanced that humility with a confidently loud show, shelling out energy as if he had an unlimited amount stored up. DJ Rhetorik also came with a lot of power, getting the crowd riled up before Logic even took the stage.

This may have been my first Logic show, but it definitely won’t be my last. His live performance definitely sparked my appreciation of what he does as an emcee and, after seeing him spit through a few old tracks, I feel the need to dig into his discography. If you enjoy Logic’s music, going to a show will only turn you into a stronger fan. Also, the homie just makes you feel good when he’s performing.
