Stars of the EDM World Tritonal and Cash Cash teamed up to bring to their audiences the stellar tour, βUntouchableβ.
On Saturday November 7th, The Knockturnal got the chance to experience a phenomenal concert along with electronic music lovers. First, DJ Yogi delighted us with his mixes as the opening act. He came on as the fidgeting lights announced his entrance. You could feel the energy of the crowd come together and explode as the music began to play. Yogi was accompanied by videos playing of different shapes and colors, creating an amazing atmosphere to be a part of. Mixing up unheard tracks as well as popular songs, yogi definitely showed off his trap mixing skills, pumping up the audience in just the right way in order to receive Tritonal.
At 9, after an hour of Yogiβs performance, the duo Tritonal took on the stage and the crowd went crazy. Right after their entrance, they addressed the audience βHello New York.β As the first song began to play, they took out a big flag with βTritonalβ written on it and waved it from side to side. They gave us a few mixes, which led up to their song βColor, and when the beat dropped smoke came out of the stage. On stage we saw the talent being surrounded by different color lights and a video of the lyrics playing, to which everyone sang along. The DJs asked the audience to chant Tritonal, and everyone gladly did. Their next originals were βNow or Never,β βAnchor,β and βUntouchables.β They also played songs of popular artists such as Adele, Ellie Goulding, Galantis, among others. Each song was unique and had a special effect, whether it was a light show, pieces of paper falling from the ceiling, or smoke, sometimes even all three combined. During the middle of their set, they threw plastic cutouts of their symbol to the audience, which waved them in the air as they chanted βTritonalβ.
Cash Cash followed at 10:15, opening their act with βUntouchables,β which we heard a total of three times during the night. Cash Cashβs set up was similar to that of Tritonalβs and the audience was just as energetic. The talent addressed their audience frequently thanking them for coming and checking to see if they were having a good time. Towards the middle of their performance, they asked the audience to take out their devices and turn on the light, creating a beautiful scenery. Cash Cash also gave the audience cutouts of dollar signs, and flags for the audience to hold through out the concert. We heard some of their most famous hits βSurrender,β βDevil,β along with many cool mixes.
By 11:30, both of these groups joined forces on stage for the B2B. They replayed some of their famous songs, along with some we hadnβt heard. They fed the energy to the audience by jumping around, dancing and singing. Huge balls were thrown out and bounced around the audience until the end of the concert. Some also crowd surfed as they brought out a big bottle of Jack Daniels, which they gulped with enthusiasm. They closed the show with the song βShut up and Dance,β and the audience was left more than satisfied, having danced and sung the night away.
