Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Gale recently released her new single called D-Pic on October 21st.
Her new single incorporates a mixture of vibrant tones and melodies, which balances with the bold message behind the song. D-Pic expresses the importance of consent and permission being granted before deciding to cross boundaries. The song plays on the concept of receiving a photo of someone or something unsolicited. D-Pic allows listeners to use their imagination by including a generic text message ping that alludes to the idea and message described throughout the song.
This recent release is her third drop as a solo artist and has received a large amount of success as a chart-topping songwriter. Gale earned a nomination at the Latin Grammys for Album of The Year for her collaboration on Christina Aguilera’s album AGUILERA. Another one of her songs, Problemas, has accumulated over 55 thousand views on Youtube and landed her in the Top 15 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. This song allowed Gale to share her own experience with being in a toxic relationship and the continuous ups and downs. Gale’s hard work and dedication to her craft allowed her the opportunity to support Camilo during Billboard Latin Week and perform on the stage at 93.1 Amor’s big radio show, Amor En Vivo, at The Prudential Center in New Jersey.
The Knockturnal spoke with Gale about her song D-Pic and her creative process when creating new music. She also talked about her album, which is currently in the works and hopes to release it soon. D-Pic is available on all music streaming services.
