Trey Songz scores a leading role in the action-thriller movie, “Blood Brother”.
In this gritty, action-filled thriller, you’ll get to see Trey Songz in a different light- as a police officer. The beginning of the movie is set when Sonny, played by Trey Songz, robs a bank with his friends. Unfortunately, one of his friends named Jake, played by actor Jack Kesy, takes the fall for the crime committed and spends fifteen years in jail. However, once the fifteen years are over and Jake is released from prison, the ex-con takes murderous revenge against those childhood friends whom he felt left him behind- including Sonny.
Sonny (Trey Songz), who turned his life around from a criminal past, becomes an officer on a mission while risking his life, to help stop his friend from committing more crimes and hurting the people he loves.
This is not the first movie for Trey Songz, as he has appeared in movies such as Baggage Claim, Texas Chainsaw 3D and Preachers Kid. However, this is the singer’s first leading role in a movie, and he spoke to us about how his past movie credits were a build-up to where he is now. Trey Songz has proved that his past movie credits were great experiences to get to where he is now as an actor in his career. As the actor and singer spoke with us more, he revealed that filming Blood Brother was more intense, not only because of the action scenes but because he was the lead character and that meant the movie heavily relied on his on-screen performance.
Aside from focusing on his on-screen performance, Trey Songz made sure to give a taste of some new music to his loyal fans. The singer and actor spoke about his latest tracks including the songs that were used on the soundtrack of the movie, as well as his double mixtape ’11 & 28′ that were released on his birthday, November 28th. When asked of his latest music and what can fans expect, the entertainer stated that his “fans can expect the same type of music”. Although Trey Songz hasn’t released a lot of music up until now, it’s solely because he strongly believes in “quality over quantity” when delivering new music to his fans.
Blood Brother is now available in movie theaters and On Demand.
