Deadmau5 Closes Four Nights In a Row at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner

Sunday night marked Deadmau5’s last performance of a four night marathon in Brooklyn for his Cubev3 Tour.

After performing for three nights straight, Deadmau5 showed how much energy he had by keeping it high throughout the fourth night.

One thing was for sure: there were a lot of cubes everywhere. In fact, the stage was set with a huge cube in the center. The show started with a GTA V character skydiving and not opening the parachute in time. After the “landing,” the music and lights took full flight.

After his opening, Deadmau5 was still nowhere to be seen. That was until the cube started to rotate and behind the cube was DeadMau5 himself, with his helmet on, DJing with all his equipment set up behind the cube.

The lights were definitely the highlight of the show. They displayed a number of graphics and short gifs on the screens which were all reminiscent of dark internet meme humor. A memorable cube moment was turning it into a Rubik’s Cube, which only made me want to play with one which unfortunately wasn’t being sold as merch.

At around halfway, Deadmau5 performed his most popular songs “Ghosts n Stuff”, “Moar Ghosts n’ Stuff”, and “I Remember” which the crowd and I loved and remembered as if released a few months ago.

If Deadmau5 could prove one thing is no matter how long he’s been around he’s still going to be relevant. His music was bumping, with everyone nodding their heads and vibing with the beats he was laying down.
