These are some of the very powerful emotions that were felt in a room full of people who have a common motive. Justice is the expectation. Justice is what is deserved. Too many times, people of color are seeing the same outcome. Shot down. Passed over. Put off. All of these things simply because of the color of their skin. No matter your occupation, your character, your family background or circumstance, you are still judged and sentenced by those whose authority isn’t warranted but those people feel superior because of their skin. They feel it is their right and duty to sentence and punish people of color to death.
Finding Justice is a 6 episode docu-series that highlights different injustices that have been perpetuated across the United States in a high climatic time where race seems to determine how a person is treated. Executive Produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Danny Garcia and Dream Hampton, this show travels to major cities across the United States and gives a real-life perspective and account from the families and communities affected by different racial injustices that ultimately ended in the demise of a loved one.
BET hosted a premiere in Atlanta, GA on March 4, 2019, at the Foundry of Puritan Hills. On the black carpet, the conversation got real and intense as host, David Banner, spared no feeling with his intense, electrifying yet motivating words.

The docu-series starts off with the heart-wrenching murder of Markeis McGlockton who’s life was abruptly ended and seemingly passed over due to the “Stand Your Ground” law which is now active in 34 states. His killer approached his family in a parking over a handicap parking space. A PARKING SPACE!
The family of Markeis McGlockton was in attendance at the premiere and their spirits were high but solemn. To them, their son’s life was lost senselessly.
In attendance at this auspicious event were those who are very active in the movement including Rashad Richardson President of Color of Change, Michele Raynor Goolsby attorney for the McGlockton family and David Banner. These people also made up the panel that was held to end the screening where tips on getting involved in the movement were shared, they defined justice, and expressed condolences for the families of those slain to injustices of race.
