The holiday gift-giving season is nearly here, often starting around Thanksgiving and continuing through the end of December. It’s a joyous time for buying presents, exchanging them with loved ones, and contributing to charities, which brings immense glee through generosity and connection. New York City’s SoHo neighborhood is a top destination for shopping, especially during the holidays, due to the area’s unparalleled variety of retail experiences, from high-end luxury flagship stores to boutiques, vintage shops, and vibrant street markets. The holidays can be a stressful time for shoppers, and finding a place to rest is very important. ModernHaus SoHo is the place to recharge and visit.

ModernHaus SoHo, a luxury boutique hotel, is the ultimate getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle. It is one of the best and most stylish hotels in lower Manhattan that offers serenity while still being in the middle of the district’s renowned shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. Located at 27 Grand Street, ModernHaus SoHo is situated against the backdrop of SoHo’s iconic cast-iron buildings and cobblestone streets and is thoughtfully designed to be an extension of the local neighborhood’s creative and dynamic spirit.

Gorgeous indoor-outdoor spaces help define ModernHaus SoHo, truly delivering on its name with a thoughtfully curated aesthetic that honors SoHo’s artistic heritage. The modern and sophisticated hotel boasts 114 rooms that are beautifully conceptualized by famed designer Melissa Bowers and are inspired by the Bauhaus art movement, and features an extensive collection of contemporary art with pieces from some of the world’s renowned names like Hans Hartung, George Condo, Harland Miller, Jean Dubuffet, Hans Hofmann, Nicolas Party, and Kaws. As soon as you walk into the gleaming lobby, you’ll notice that the atmosphere upon arrival is classy and calm. The intimate space is warm with sleek wood paneling and accented with striking floor-to-ceiling colorful paintings. And with its soaring ceilings, the lobby sets the tone and creates an inviting and soothing vibe.

Recently, The Knockturnal visited the hotel overnight for less than 24 hours, and we enjoyed our stay. The guest room was slightly larger than other Manhattan hotels, and it was extremely comfortable and functional. The room featured a plush king-sized bed, a floor-to-ceiling window that had views of the Tribeca neighborhood, a mini blue-colored fuzzy sofa, and generous closet space. The highlight was the well-lit bathroom and its amenities. Le Labo products, such as soap and shampoo, were available, and a rainfall shower created a dreamy, spa-like experience, which was truly divine.

The property offers 11,000 square ft. of outdoor space, contemporary dining outlets, a 24-hour fitness center, and an 18th-floor rooftop bar called Jimmy that has a modestly sized outdoor pool with amazing city views. There’s also Jumpin’ Jacks, a chic all-day eatery that transforms into an intimate lounge at night.

Overall, ModernHaus SoHo is a winner due to its immediate relaxing and comforting effect. The hotel understands that luxury is not a result of extravagance and size, but it’s more about thoughtful curation, exceptional amenities, and an inviting atmosphere to create a memorable and relaxing stay. ModernHaus SoHo is contemporary perfection and worth booking a reservation, especially during the holiday season.
