Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets the full LEGO makeover in preparations for a new show.

The Star Wars LEGO brand has already become extra popular on Disney XD but is now preparing for more excitement in the form of a new show. Specifically made for the new Star Wars movie, the LEGO YouTube channel released a trailer for the show that will debut later this year called: The Freemaker Adventures.

The two companies have already made other shows together such as, Droid Tales, The Yoda Chronicles, and have also created some shorts for the new movie. LEGO announced another new series called Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises, which takes place before The Force Awakens and has aired the first episode featuring Oscar Isaac’s character Poe Dameron. This means the two brands will be have two new shows, however for The Freemaker all that had been given was poster art that featured some important characters like, Darth Vader and Palpatine. The new story focuses on a family of scavengers who take parts from the debris of space battles and build starships.
LEGO Group Vice President Jill Wilber stated that the show will be combining great storytelling, fun characters, and action in the far away galaxy while also incorporating the standard LEGO humor the public has come to love. With the release of the trailer, the public can finally get a glimpse into the family’s adventures but what has caught many people’s eyes is a new weapon in the trailer.

Not only has the trailer given a sneak peek, but introduced a new space weapon called the “kyber saber” which is made of the crystals that most sabers are made of. The difference is most sabers are made of a small piece of the crystal, however this saber is made entirely of the crystal, making it extremely powerful. The weapon is what Emperor Palpatine has his eye on, but what happens with the saber creates the adventures for the Freemaker family. A premiere date for the new show has yet to be set, but fans can keep their eyes peeled for the release on Disney XD.
