Why Life Time One Wall Street Is Perfect for Couples

My wife and I recently moved to the FiDi/Battery Park neighborhood and have been on the hunt for a new gym to join.

On a walk, we stumbled upon Life Time Battery Park country club. Inside, we discovered a clean, state-of-the-art gym. The front desk representative told us that if we liked what we saw at that location, we should consider joining Life Time One Wall Street. Not only would we have access to a brand new three-floor fitness center, but we could also use the Battery Park club as apart of that membership in addition to many many other facilities. The luxury health club’s Wall Street location hosted us for a week and below are our impressions.

Here is why Life Time One Wall Street is perfect for couples.

Housed in a former bank, the club has a modern, welcoming décor. On walking in, we were greeted by friendly staff and entered a cozy lounge with a café.

Down the stairs were large, luxurious locker rooms for men and women. The rooms offered fresh towels, body wash, lotion, razors, and private showers. There was no need to bring our own locks as guests could set their own codes on the locker’s built-in locks.

The same floor also has a spa, a salon, and another café. The café, which is open until 10 p.m. all week, offers wholesome and natural food, such as shakes and smoothies, salads bowls, sandwiches, coffee, and tea. The spa features treatments for hair, skin, body, and nails. The offerings for hair include haircuts, color, bleach and tone, gloss, conditioning treatment, relaxer treatment, blowouts, and so much more. Skin offerings include custom facials, hydrafacials, and red-light therapy. A variety of massages are available at the spa. There is also a medispa. Couples can dine together and take advantage of the spa and salon all in one place. The amenities and club’s offerings are next level.

Down another floor there are boutique studios where members can attend Pilates, barre, and other interactive weights classes; and another level down is the gym.

The workout floor itself was vast with plenty to explore. Everywhere we went hand-sanitizer, fresh towels, and dispenser wipes were within reach. During our weeklong trial, my wife and I appreciated that we could always find equipment beside one another. There was a whole fleet of Stairmasters, ellipticals, treadmills, and cycling bicycles. There was a wide variety of machines for working out each muscle group, so that we did not tire of using the same equipment each night. Some of our favorite devices were the rowing machine and the lat pulldown. Certain high-tech machines even had screens to tell us how many reps we had done and give a strength analysis. Best of all, there was so much equipment that we never had to wait to use any of it. The gym also boasts a number of seating areas where members can take a break to relax and unwind. It was fun to sit and chat while getting ready to do the next part of our workout.

For couples with children there is even a small basketball court for kids. Life Time offers child care for children aged three months through eleven years. Activities include sensory and story time, arts and crafts, games and puzzles, reading and music, and weekly themes.

To join the gym, the cost is $359 for two adults and $259 for one adult per month.
