On The Scene: AMC Hosts ‘Feed the Beast’ Premiere

On Monday, May 23, 2016, AMC celebrated the upcoming premiere of their newest series “Feed the Beast.”

“Feed the Beast” is a drama about two best friends who take one last shot at their dream of opening a restaurant in the Bronx.

“I like to say that the show is about the 5 Fs”, said executive producer Clyde Phillips, “ fate, family, friendship, fatherhood and food.”

The show stars David Schwimmer as Tommy Moran and Jim Sturgess, as Dion Patras. Schwimmer describes his character as a “sommelier rasiing a son, a mixed-raced 10 year old son on his own because his wife was tragically killed in a hit and run.” Jim Sturgess’ character is Tommy’s best friend, the coke addicted head chef of the restaurant.

Sturgess said of the series, “It’s a story about friendship, it’s a story about fatherhood, the mob gets involved,” adding that his character “attracts trouble wherever he goes. He’s like a firework.”

The rest of the cast of “Feed the Beast” includes Michael Gladis, as Patrick Woichik, or The Tooth Fairy, the local mobster known for pulling the teeth of his victims. Lorenza Izzo, plays Pilar Herrera, a woman who meets Tommy in a grief group, and is desperately searching for true love. Christine Adams plays the intriguing role of Tommy’s late wife, Rie Moran. John Doman plays Tommy’s father Aidan Moran, a businessman and unapologetic racist and Elijah Jacob as Tommy’s ten-year old son TJ Moran.

“Feed the Beast” will premiere Sunday, June 5th at 10 p.m ET/PT on the AMC channel.
