Three years after its initial release, this batch of lemonade is still as fresh as ever.
Following its three year anniversary, TIDAL and Beyoncé teamed up to celebrate Queen Bey’s iconic and game-changing visual album, Lemonade, with an exclusive and intimate event created with the biggest fans of Beyoncé’s fanbase in mind. Taking place at the World of McIntosh Townhouse in lower Manhattan, the popular music streaming service crafted an event that perfectly encapsulated what Beyoncé’s sixth studio album is all about. With visuals from the film that accompanied the popular album playing on a loop to lemons upon lemons displayed throughout the event, TIDAL went all out in ensuring that the event was perfect for every member in attendance of the BeyHive.
As guests first arrived to the celebration, they were greeted by staff who allowed them to take a photograph before a commemorative backdrop before handing out a themed goodie bag. Inside the bag, guests would find a bottle of lemonade, a cookie with Beyoncé’s face on it and their very own bottle of hot sauce with lyrics from “Formation” plastered upon the front. As guests continued making their way upstairs and throughout the event, they stumbled upon the main area where an interactive photobooth stood on one side while drinks and appetizers stood on the other. Nicole Lyn, also known as Ms. Nix, was DJing the event and had popular Beyoncé tunes mixed in with some deep cuts playing as guests mingled and interacted with one another.
After everyone had a chance to explore the five-story townhouse and take in every little detail that TIDAL included to perfect the event, Lemonade began to play for the guests in attendance. The film, which revolves around love, infidelity, race, and reconciliation, was first released on HBO back in April of 2016 and is a fan favorite among many Beyoncé fans. As the film played and went from song to song, guests in attendance sang along word for word and danced to each scene. The greatest moment came at the end when guests matched every step to Beyoncé’s onscreen as “Formation” played during the end credits.
The event marked an exciting celebration for fans of Beyoncé as they look forward to what comes next from their favorite entertainer. Following Lemonade, Beyoncé teamed up with husband JAY Z to release their highly anticipated joint album, EVERYTHING IS LOVE, and the songstress recently released a live album of her historic 2018 Coachella performance. What the future holds for music’s reigning royal remains to be seen, but with Beyoncé having turned lemons into lemonade, there’s no telling what direction she will head in next.
