Trapstar Brings Military and Sports Elements to Puma

Puma and Trapstar have released their capsule collection as collaborators at Paris Fashion Week.

For the collaboration Trapstar’s Mike, Lee and Will took inspiration from military and football to put their own spin on Puma’s history as an athletic brand. The trio have noted that much of their inspiration comes from iconic films, photography and music as well as contemporary art. The collection, featuring accessories and sneakers, will be available for purchase on Puma’s website and select retailer on Aug. 15.

The military influence came through in particularly in the olive and black color scheme of the show and a vintage style, military trench coat. Camo print was also featured in the collection at a much more high contrast. Puma’s classic T7 Savannah jacket was reinvented with a football tough with heat transfer marks. A large downey filled coat was also reminiscent of a coach’s coat, bringing in style to functionality with Trapstars “white noise” print on the sleeves.

Puma’s classic sneakers also got a remix. Suede and Basket styles got a more luxury field using suede and leather. The Puma Disc System seemed to get the full Trapstar treatment though. The new Disc Black Camo featured Trapstar’s webbing pattern and the bold camo print of the collection. Trapstar clearly brought some life and a street style appeal to Puma.
