Glenlivet’s Distillery Expert, Lisa Glen (who flew in from Scotland just for the event!) and U.S. Brand Ambassador, Jenna Murray, hosted the intimate whiskey-dinner pairing at Zou Zou’s NYC restaurant.
We were greeted with Glenlivet’s fruity cocktails, and a gorgeous and elegant dinner setup. The brand’s décor was extravagant and colorful, with exotic palm leaves, and hot pink orchid centerpieces, with gold and mirror statement pieces everywhere! In front of the main plates, were 18, 21, and 25 marks, where the individual whiskeys would be placed when paired with each course, along with marble containers which introduced us to the key ingredients in each expression.
The following whiskeys and courses were paired together: 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky paired with the Roasted Sweet Potato, the 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky paired with the Smoked Cherry Baby Lamb Chops and Crispy Latkes, and the 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky paired with the Chocolate Pot De Crème, that concluded the chic dinner on a sweet note. Lisa Glen and Jenna Murray passionately guided us through each tasting, by inspiring us to tap into all of our senses when experiencing the product, by inquiring, what we smell, what we taste, and how the whiskey’s specific ingredients pair with the course’s unique ingredients, effortlessly and deliciously.
