Synergies: Parsons BFA Runway Show

A night of drama, accessories, and inventive materials. The BFA Fashion students at Parsons showcased their craftsmanship and creative visions of grandeur at the Hall des Lumieres for their Spring fashion show

On Monday, May 20th, The Knockturnal attended the Parson’s fashion show for their BFA students, titled Synergies. The show, inspired by the concept of collaboration and the fusion of different artistic disciplines, was held at Hall des Lumieres in New York’s financial district and focused on the senior projects and collections of the 2024 graduating class. With over 200 looks coming down the runway, the night was full of variety, drama, and surprise.

Womenswear, menswear, and accessories were all featured categories on the runway, with most of the students choosing to produce in haute couture construction. Each designer, with their unique and innovative vision, brought to life a new perspective, pushing the limitations of fabrication to extend beyond its traditional use. Their designs performed as an accessory or an avant-garde statement playing off themes of historical dress, body image, and gender norms. There was also odes to our natural environment with many designers pulling in inspiration not only from raw natural elements but also the nature of our immediate environment of New York City.

Below are some of the more notable pieces of the night filled with excitement and intrigue for the audience. The ingenuity and creativity that these Parson Graduates brought into the fashion world is a breath of fresh air. Congrats, Parson Graduates!
