“Swagger” on the Red Carpet of Tribeca Festival

The cast of this Apple TV+ series strut down the red carpet with “Swagger” at the season 2 premiere during Tribeca Film Festival. The premiere was shown at AMC 19th Street. In attendance was Reggie Rock Bythewood, the creator, director, and executive producer of the series.

Inspired by the experiences of NBA star Kevin Durant, Swagger showcases the complex world of youth basketball. Starring Isaiah Hill as Jace Carter and O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Isaac ‘Ike’ Edwards, the first season of the series was critically acclaimed.

The entire cast expressed the belief that this season was bigger and better than season one, with all the characters playing at a higher level, and all the actors performing at a higher level as well. Attending the premiere as well was rapper IDK, who worked on the soundtrack for the season. IDK grew up in the DMV area (Washington D.C. / Maryland / Virginia), which is where the show takes place. Additionally, Wanda Durant, mother of Executive Producer Kevin Durant, attended the red-carpet and screening.

During the screening, it was apparent that the cast had a sense of camaraderie, as whenever a new character appeared on screen, the actors all cheered enthusiastically for each other.

In scenes on the court, Swagger does an excellent job of highlighting the emotions of the players, coaches, and spectators, setting the show apart from other sports dramas.

After the screening, there was a panel hosted by Monica McNutt, a sports analyst at ESPN. The rising stars of Swagger all have promising careers ahead.

Season 2 premieres on June 23, with new episodes every Friday on Apple TV+.
