On Wednesday evening, popular Manhattan club Somewhere Nowhere unveiled its rooftop pool for the summer. The special day prompted the club to host a variety of lively events, including a Gotham Jazz show with the Womack Sisters headlining, which we had the chance to check out.
As soon as I arrived, I headed up to the rooftop to soak up the 360 Manhattan skyline views after maneuvering through the already-long 6:30pm line. Sangria was served in bright pitchers as I gazed out at the breathtaking views of Hudson Yards, the Empire State, and Chrystler buildings. The rooftop, with a splash pool to enjoy throughout the many hot summer nights ahead, is the perfect spot to start your evening with a few cocktails before heading to the lounge for some exciting live music.
Somewhere Nowhere has partnered with Gotham Jazz to offer live music every Wednesday night in their lounge – which has even more gorgeous cityscape views to enjoy after spending some time on the rooftop. Evocative of the Jazz age, performers wear 1920s themed outfits – entertainment includes jazz singers, aerialists, burlesque dancers, tap dancers, and DJs playing swing tunes. These events are unique because they’re open to the public every Wednesday, whereas most venues require advance bookings for live performances. If you come on a Wednesday, you may be lucky enough to catch one of the special guests lined up for the summer: “Hannah Gill on vocals, Grammy-nominated musician Gabe Terracciano on the violin, Ron Wilkins on trombone, Justin Poindexter on guitar, Wallace Stelzer on bass, Patrick Soluri on drums along with special musical guests Professor Cunningham and Danny Jonokuchi, on a special night.”
Be sure to stop by Somewhere Nowhere this summer to enjoy some gorgeous seasonal views, lively jazz music, and dancing all night long. You can see the full lineup here, and table reservations that can be made by visiting this link!
