‘Star Wars’ Launches Several New Projects This Week

Star Wars continues their collaborations and product releases from fashion to cellphones.

Star Wars: Force 4 Fashion launched on Dec. 2. The project is a collaboration for charity as well as a look at how film and fashion interact. 11 designers re-imagined the look for characters from the film. The designers include Billy Reid, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Giles Deacon, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, rag & bone, Timo Weiland and Todd Snyder.

After the event the looks will be displayed in Bloomingdales’ flagship windows in New York City. Each of the outfits will be auctioned from Dec. 2-18 on CharityBuzz.com. All of the proceeds will be given to the Child Mind Institute on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change.

The franchise also has partnered up for Bitmoji for a Star Wars theme pack. Each of the bitmojis feature the users avatar in a setting and custom outfit inspired by the film. They will also say a phrase. Some of the features include dressing like Rey, rolling with BB-8, co-piloting the Millennium Falcon or wielding a light saber. The pack is available now for free.

Verizon and Google have also teamed up the film for the limited edition Google Cardboard. The boxes are virtual reality viewers allowing people to view Jakku as if it’s reality. Star Wars designs are featured on the outside of each box including a Stormtrooper helmet, R2 and BB-8.

Fan can pick up the Google Cardboard at Verizon store. The exclusive content entitled “Jakku Spy” is available through the official Star Wars app.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters Dec. 18.
