Irving plaza was oozing with energy last Saturday night as “The Fallin’ Up” tour came to town.
The line up included Kirko Bangz, Jordan Bratton, and featured SoMo. With the room filled from corner to corner the crowd anxiously chanted and demanded the R&B dreamboat take the stage.
“Drank in My Cup” rapper Kirko Bangz, started the night off with his set. The rapper performed with a little twist for the fans as he gyrated and slow whined to the sounds of Usher’s “Nice & Slow” before saying good bye.
Up next were the high intensity vocals of Jordan Bratton. A relatively new artist as his sound is still making its way to mainstream airwaves but a gifted youngster to say the least. Bratton managed to get down with his eccentric dance moves and still provide a strong vocal as he stationed himself behind a set of keys to then deliver some ballads. He ended his number with “Victoria” his dynamic and powerful track which is definitely worth the listen.
SoMo took the stage after his fans once more began to chant “we want SoMo!” It was worth the wait as the crooner sang a number of songs both from his own arsenal, current chart toppers and classics. Though he expressed dancing was not his forte, fans could not help but go crazy as he swayed and grinded to the beat. From the timeless tune “Feeling Good” to current frenzy “Hotline Bling” SoMo gave his covers of these tracks their just due. Before closing out the show the singer gave the crowd a well deserved encore of his hit song “Ride” in an undone white button up showcasing his six pack abs. Since the moment he took the stage until the lights turned off to signal the show had come to a close, his die hard fans cheered and squealed as the heartthrob and company did not disappoint!
