On the Scene: Inside Irina Vitjaz’s Spring/Summer 2018 Runway Show at NYFW

Irina Vitjaz is an Austrian designer, born in Russia. Her grandfather was known to be one of the “best tailors during his time”. One could say that this is a designer in which ‘fashion’ and ‘design’ is not only a passion, but a part of her.

For her Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Vitjaz showcased her collection at the Dream Downtown. It was a show that infused sophistication, modernity and class. There was definitely a huge focus on color. The colors in the collection were eclectic and ranged from neutral to popping neon. However, the array of shades did not ruin the flow of the show. Instead, the neon colors added a flavor to the neutrality, and the neutral colors were a calm balance to the strong shades.

When it comes to the music during the show. It was incredible. The music was dark, dramatic and complemented the clothes impeccably. The clothes came to life a lot more with the whole vibe that was created. It was more than just a presentation of clothes, it was a show with hints of theatrical elements. The music would ascend and the excitement from the audience would arise and the new looks would walk through and catch people in awe.

Overall, it was a phenomenal show. To give one a hint about what was showcased; below are five of the must see looks from the collection:
