On June 22-23, POPSUGAR returned for the second annual POPSUGAR Play/Ground conference and festival.

Headliners included Issa Rae, Chrissy Teigen, Mandy Moore, Amanda Seyfried, Milo Ventimiglia, Camila Mendes, Candice Huffine, Amy Aniobi, Jen Atkin, and more.

In addition to the celebrity led panel discussions were other informative sessions specific to the well being of the mind, body, and soul. Beginning with a giant rainbow above cloud-like swings, the other activations echoed a holistic approach and left plenty of networking space for bloggers, beauty enthusiasts, empowered women, and the average socialite seeking a good time and an Insta-worthy photo.

Activations:

The Beauty Carnival was a place where attendees could play carnival games with the chance to win prizes—gift cards, lip balms, facial products, hair care products and more.

The Mall of the Future was a shopping space with both up and coming and mainstream brands in addition to exclusive POPSUGAR collaborations–Beauty by POPSUGAR, and the POPSUGAR Collection at Kohl’s–with product booths from CALIA by Carrie Underwood, Nair, Physicians Formula, Tropicana, and more.

Sugar Studios was fit with workout sessions led by fitness gurus, influencers, and shop owners.

The Samsung Soul Space Village included information on spirituality and healing, and an opportunity for an aura reading.

Inspiring quotes from the headliners:

Mandy Moore: “Forgiveness is not a favor.”

Susan Kelechi Watson: “I feel like it’s always important for us to know our super power. And what I mean by that is like, when you go into a room, what can you take in with you that nobody else takes? …For me, my super power is joy. When I have joy and I’m content and spiritually happy, my work is something else that I feel very much in possession of. It’s very unique; it’s for me. And I feel confident about what I’m giving.”

Candice Huffine: “Let’s not lead with body, period. Who cares if you gain or lost [weight]? Let’s talk about your epic role, or how the show’s doing, or where you’re off to next–these really cool things women are doing that should be celebrated. Which is why we need to celebrate women in a more authentic way.”

Camila Mendes: “Why am I trying to hide something that is very real? This idea of celebrities being perfect is so stupid and I want to show my audience realness.”

Issa Rae: “I doubt myself a lot. Doubting myself is what kind of drives me because part of me hates to be underestimated but loves to be underestimated because I’m driven by proving people wrong…That’s the Capricorn in me.”

Chrissy Teigen: “I make poor decisions. I knew it wasn’t the right thing for me going into it, then I try it and it fails. You think ‘Oh, I should’ve stuck to my gut.’ When I think of failure I think of things that were pushed on me that I signed up for that I ended up hating. I’ve said ‘no’ to things that I still cringe about because they were so massive and so exciting that I still feel the hurt about it.”
