In this neo-noir thriller film by Pirie Martin, we see a criminal fixer, of sorts, who encounters some type of hypno-mentalist, attempting to toy with his mind in the most frightening of ways.
Let’s get started. This movie is not like other movies, for better or for worse. It is something like a combination of neo-noir, psychological thriller, and avant-garde concoction that seems bizarre to really grasp when looking at the film at face value.
Despite its convoluted plot and somewhat surreal nature, the film is very interesting and hearkens back to other avant-garde and experimental films like The Seventh Seal and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
It has a certain “wow” factor that stuns, confuses, and dazzles all at the same time, which is strange yet fascinating all at once.
All in all, the film is aggressively weird, but certainly has an edge in captivating an audience and knows how to get a reaction from its viewers.
