Power Book II: Ghost Season 3, Episode 2 Review

The biggest reveal to come out of last week’s Power Book II: Ghost is that Lauren is alive and is under Jenny’s supervision. But she does not want to hide in the shadows for that long.

Jenny told Lauren how she ended up there and it is good that this was addressed early on instead of dragging it for the whole season. Now that Jenny knows that Effie tried to kill Lauren, it will give the law enforcement more fuel to their R.I.C.O case against everyone associated with Tariq St. Patrick.

Another thing I like about the episode, are the scenes between Lorenzo and Cane. Not only did Cane figure out that Lorenzo accidentally killed Zeke, he also took over his connection to the drug trade. The acting between these two for that blowup argument scene was incredible. It reminded me of Power Book III: Raising Kanan’s finale when Raquel told Lou-Lou almost the same thing.

Monet is still in pain over the death of Zeke and I think that this not not talked about enough on how parents are dealing with this. Sure, there are dark times when it comes to character deaths, but one needs to think how does it affect families.

With Brayden’s new job that gives off The Wolf on Wall Street vibes here, I am digging it. Plus he got a taste of Keke and Tariq now interns there after getting kicked out. There is a ton of character development here that will play out for the rest of the season. Not to forget that Cooper Saxe found Davis’ burner phone that he makes calls to Monet. That is pivotal evidence right there.

A lot going on here and I like the direction this season of Power Book II: Ghost is heading. A very suspenseful episode that kept me engaged the entire time.
