Pop-up Rooftop Brews & Views Beer Garden Draws to a Close

On Friday night the Parkway Central Library wrapped up their three-day pop-up Brews & Views rooftop beer garden.

Philadelphia residents enjoyed three nights of extended happy hour on the roof while overlooking Logan Square, the Art Museum District, and the city skyline. Some of the crowd stood along the edges of the library’s Skyline Terrace for an Instagram-worthy photo opportunity while others gathered around exclusive rooftop tables.

The event featured beer from Connecticut-based Two Roads Brewing Company and was catered by chefs from Brûlée Catering. The menu included German-inspired dishes like pork bratwurst and Bavarian pretzels.

Attendees danced along to pop and hip-hop music put on by DJs from Today’s 96.5. The radio station also raffled off two tickets to Ed Sheeran’s 2018 concert at Lincoln Financial Field.

On Thursday night, on the ground floor of the building actress Gabrielle Union discussed her memoir, “We’re Going To Need More Wine: Stories That Are Funny, Complicated, and True,” with journalist Tracey Matisak. Union was at the event as part of her Real Life Book Club Tour. She was signing copies of her book for attendees. The line for the event ran out the front of the Parkway Central Library and wrapped all the way around the block.

The Brews & Views rooftop beer garden will likely remain closed until warm weather returns to the city in spring.
