DIRECTV rolled out the carpet for their first awards viewing party to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars on the town’s biggest night.

Rob Lowe, who is amazingly turning 60 despite looking just a few years older than his Brat Pack days, welcomed current and former co-stars and other celeb friends to kick off the evening and was surprised with a special birthday toast in between awards. Of course, his wife and son John Owen Lowe (also his co-star of their Netflix show Unstable), joined in for the festivities.

Guests enjoyed the telecast from the gorgeous viewing lounge while enjoying Spago’s signature menu, specialty cocktails, and other gourmet goodies.

Meredith Marks served guests caviar, which paired perfectly with Spago’s hors d’oeuvre selection that included sashimi, burrata, prosciutto, and more.

Fellow Housewife (though from the OC) Vicki Gunvalson shared that she’s also “real excited, this is my first time to an Oscars party, excited to see some people I’ve never met, and it’ll be fun. Everybody looks so beautiful.”

Spago offered guests a five course experience with bites of dry aged kampachi crudo, baby beet salad, sautéed scallops, cod, and wagyu beef — and that was before waiters dazzled everyone with decadent dessert options such as a gelato bar and apple pie to celebrate Rob Lowe’s milestone birthday.

After the Best Picture was awarded (spoiler alert: it was Oppenheimer), guests rounded out the night with a passed cart of Dom Perignon to celebrate the successful event.
