Designer Michael Fausto made his CFDA Fashion Week Calendar Debut, showing his SS25 Collection Presentation during New York Fashion Week.
VIP attendees flocked to his presentation at the Friedman Benda Gallery on Tuesday, September 10th, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM in Chelsea.
Of course, while the presentation may have been Fausto’s CFDA calendar debut… it was hardly his debut in fashion… or dressing iconic fashionable women.
His designs have been seen on internationally acclaimed singer Adele, The Little Mermaid’s Halle Bailey, actress Laverne Cox, Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn, and iconic supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice… and has also been featured on some of your favorite housewives in The Real Housewives of Miami and The Real Housewives of The New Jersey.
His work has been featured in publications such as WWD, Marie Claire, NY Mag, and Cosmopolitan. And recently, was featured on The Tamron Hall Show, selected as one of their ‘Up-and-Coming Designers.’
Fashionistas mingled throughout the presentation, sipping wine or other drinks as they filtered through the spacious room, giving everyone plenty of opportunity and space to get up close with the gorgeous designs.
The SS25 collection, Castellammare, is described as following the summer of an Italian debutante as she explores “la dolce vita.” This fast-paced party girl is sent to a family palazzo in Sicily and forced to acclimate to the coastal lifestyle. (Jealous yet?) The ornate and historic home, filled with luxurious textiles, family heirlooms, and curiosities begins to blend together with her high society, big city style, creating a juxtaposition between the slow and the fast, the old and the new, the sleek and obscure.
Some of the collection’s highlights included a Roman gladiator-like look that reigned supreme among the guests, as well as chic pantsuits, gowns, and a lovely dress that would be perfect to stroll around Italy (or really any glam location) during the day as well as an evening fete.
The Michael Fausto brand’s refined aesthetic pulls an equal punch with a flair for drama. And who doesn’t like drama during Fashion Week? (Answer: no one!) Having spent his post-grad training in the ateliers of Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, and Badgley Mischka, the designer (who graduated from FIT) launched his eponymous brand in October 2019.
