NYFW: CHOGHENG FW’19 Presentation

FW19 New York FASHION WEEK FEBRUARY2019

On February 12, 2019, CHOCHENG presented his FW’19 collection for day 6 of NYFW.

CHOCHENG is an emerging womenswear designer label. Designer Cho Cho Cheng drew inspiration CHOCHENG’s latest collection from 1959 film “North by Northwest.” While Cho Cho Cheng is originally from Hong Kong, the Chengs designs are reminiscent of Savile Row tailoring techniques.

Cheng studied at Parsons School of Design for costume design and fashion before studying traditional British tailoring in Savile Row, London. Cheng’s eye for detail alongside the designers training in hand-sewing techniques and tailoring brings an element of British tailoring craftsmanship throughout Cheng’s collections.

CHOCHENG FW’19 presented 32 looks on the NYFW runway. All CHOCHENG garments are hand sewn using sustainable fabrics produced in Europe. The latest collection is made with cruelty-free custom cashmere tweed and silks. Cheng’s attention to detail is shown in the embroidered button, inseam buttons, and handmade silk petals. Commercial iron-on interfacing and machine finishing is forbidden for both aesthetic and environmental reasons.
