Raising money to help cats and dogs in need
On Thursday, April 27th, the NYC Second Chance Rescue hosted their 3rd annual Rescue Ball. The event was hosted at the Pierre Hotel and raised money to continue their mission of providing care to injured, ill, and abused cats and dogs. This year, the NYC Second Chance Rescue honored Georgina Bloomberg and Joe Gatto with the “Hero Award” which recognized their work with helping animals. Additionally, Dr. Peter Roufail was honored with the “Veternarian of the Year” award that night.
The evening started with an intimate cocktail hour where guests were able to bid on silent auction items and sip on some of the signature cocktails offered. Afterwards, guests were seated for the dinner and award ceremony. The evening was hosted by Tony and Grammy Award-Nominated actress and singer, Orfeh. Also in attendance was Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga who was accompanied by her husband Joe Gorga. The evening featured a vegan menu, craft cocktails, and musical performances by DJ GEO ROC and the Violin Diva.
There was a live auction during the evening as well where guests had the chance to bid on items included a vacation in Scotland, a private villa in Costa Rica, and tickets for a performance of Madonna: The Celebration Tour. In total, the NYC Second Chance Rescue was able to raise over $100,000 for the charity.
