Nummos House Kicks Off with Grand Opening in Williamsburg

Nummos House, a new social capital club, has opened up in New York City.

The invite-only, inaugural event was held in a 2,000 square foot penthouse in Williamsburg, featuring a whiskey tasting, a carefully curated art display and a beautiful Manhattan view. How does Nummos House compare to other social clubs like Soho House or Zero Bond? While these clubs rely more on the social, Nummos House emphasizes not just the social, but the capital as well.

“[Guests at other social clubs] literally could tell you hey you know what, I don’t want to talk about work at this moment, I just want to have drinks. And this is the moment when I mentally checked out, literally. The question is where do we find people who are passionate about what they do, what they build, when they wake up with the thought, like ‘What kind of value can I create today? What kind of things can I build? What can I do better and bigger?’ That is basically why we are here today,” said co-founder Aryuna Merdygeeva. Aryuna and her business partner/fellow co-founder, Pavel Koziakov embody the values they seek.  Aryuna has co-founded three venture capital funds and currently advises companies on their market strategies and the funding process. Pavel is a branding specialist with over fifteen years of experience, helping brands with creative direction, strategy and content creation, in addition to running two independently backed e-commerce businesses.

Being a go-getter isn’t the only requirement to get into the club—members must have a net worth of at least $10 million. “We decided to do Nummos House because we want to create a limited 150 people club of VC investors, of family offices and established founders to be together [and] create, build relationships, trust each other and within that trust business is to be made,” Koziakov explained. “We’re having fun enjoying each other’s company but we also hope from that relationship we will be able to grow our net worth and help each other to achieve anything that you are trying to achieve.”

And fun was certainly had that night. Baxus hosted a specialty whiskey tasting and Old Post Spirit Shop provided the wine and champagne. Brainpop, one of the newest “Smart Sodas,” was available as a non-alcoholic option. Hors d’oeuvres were made by Fig and Olive and for dessert, Godiva chocolates. Original artwork was displayed throughout the space, featuring pieces from Jordan Barker and TheArtery.

Nummos House will be continuing their fun over the coming weeks in Miami, just in time for Art Basel. Click through the gallery for an exclusive look at this special members only event.
