NCT 127 Talks About Their New Album and the Album’s Title Track, “Sticker”

NCT 127 is coming back with a brand new album called “Sticker,” which is being released on September 17, 2021. Prior to the albums release, we caught up with NCT 127 at their global press conference for their latest offering to fans. We got to hear from the guys themselves about the album and it’s title track,“Sticker.”

“We played around with the lyrics, and it [“Sticker”] talks about wanting to always stay by the side of someone you love and create history together,” Taeyong, the group’s leader said. He added, “when we first heard it [“Sticker”], we thought it’d be a bright track like “TOUCH,” but the moment we heard the signature flute sound, we realized this is for us. It wasn’t easy at first and we thought a lot about how we’d perform this.”

Taeyong also opened up about working with legendary K-pop producer, Yoo Younge Jin, who worked to produce the album. “Yoo Younge Jin also gave me the chance to participate in the rap making to make it a bit more NCT 127’s color so Mark and I worked on that.” Mark chimed in, saying, “It was a great opportunity actually, and we prepared a lot for it. Taeyong and I also discussed on how we wanted to show the team’s color as well, and I do feel like the fans will really like it.”

There’s more to the album “Sticker,” than just pure music. Like every good K-pop song, their is a marriage between music, visuals and dance. Jaehyun noted, that the boys worked incredibly hard to make the choreography not only fit with this song but fit with the group themselves. Jaehyun  said, “Through the choreography, you’ll be able to see our neo yet powerful side to it. It’s very energetic yet ‘sticky’ as well. There’s a lot of group choreography and I think the dance is also something to focus on.” He also added, “the title ‘Sticker, [has a]…signature move [which] is a hand gesture that looks as if you’re placing a sticker.” As for the music video, he said, “we added a neo twist to a Western-styled movie. We focused a lot on the special effects to create a futuristic atmospher using lights, CG, etc.”

It’s clear from the music video how much the boys put their heart into this album. Taeyong acknowledged the group’s hard work by saying, “Our 3rd album ‘Sticker’ will be released soon and we’ve worked hard on it so I hope you’ll continue to show us love and support.” NCT 127 will released their 3rd Album ‘Sticker’ on September 17, 2021.
