Mijenta Tequila Celebrates The Launch Of the Symphony Series No. 2 Expression With VIP Tasting At Clemente Bar

The new Symphony Series No. 2 showcases how incredible craftsmanship can create an incredibly tasting tequila

Last week, Mijenta Tequila unveiled its highly anticipated Symphony Series No. 2, a distinctive high-proof reposado aged for eight months. The launch was celebrated with an exclusive gathering at Clemente Bar, NYC’s newest cocktail lounge perched atop New York’s legendary Eleven Madison Park.

Guests were treated to an inventive menu of craft cocktails, expertly prepared by the Clemente Bar team, each featuring the new Symphony Series No. 2 as its base. The offerings showcased remarkable creativity, ranging from a savory tomato martini incorporating sake, tomato water, and amazake, to a fragrant, nutty concoction blending acidified papaya, yuzu sake, and cashew orgeat. These thoughtful pairings skillfully highlighted the tequila’s complex spice notes, such as clove, mint, and cardamom as well as the sweeter notes such as chocolate, vanilla, and caramel.

The event also featured an exclusive tasting session in Clemente Bar’s private room, offering a deeper dive into the Mijenta portfolio. Alongside the award-winning Reposado and Añejo expressions, attendees sampled tequila aged in various barrels—including French Oak, American Oak, Acacia, and Cherry—to understand how different woods shape the final spirit. This comparative tasting culminated with the Symphony barrel itself, revealing that the new expression owes its unique character to a novel barrel crafted from four distinct types of American oak sourced from diverse US regions. Many guests discovered this unique barrel composition for the first time during the tasting.

The Symphony Series No. 2 expression itself offers an inviting aromatic profile of vanilla, caramel, and banana, accented by bright citrus and subtle herbal undertones. On the palate, these initial notes reappear before unfolding into a more complex tapestry of almond, refreshing mint, and warm baking spices like clove, cardamom, and a hint of cinnamon. Each sip reveals nuanced layers, showcasing the depth achieved through its unique aging process.
