The rom-com Meet Cute in Manhattan was indeed cute, fittingly like the film’s title.

Meet Cute in Manhattan was a charming, adorable and unexpected rom-com. Being that I’m a huge Hallmark fan, I immediately knew I was in for a treat. The movie was a movie-within-a-movie because the screenwriter created a play-by-play script that allowed the audience to be a fly-on-the-wall for Terence Chen‘s developing creative vision. As Terence literally questioned what should come next in his script in the film, viewers guessed along and were often surprised by the outcome. The plot of the quirky movie was captivating itself, because moviegoers weren’t sure how things would pan out, being that both leads were in struggling committed relationships, which added to the complexity and intense cliff-hangers in the film.

Viewers were rooting for the leads as though they were their real friends, and as each moment delved deeper into the characters’ similarities, shared mindsets and personalities, we also fell in love, along with them. In the adorable film, the leads find romance, all thanks to becoming the unexpected model representatives for a new dating app called Meet Cute, without even having used it personally. The rom-com confirmed that love should be effortless and easy, and the actors’ strong chemistry was palpable and was felt beyond the fourth wall. Meet Cute in Manhattan was proof that it doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day to get those fuzzy feelings.
