Lupe Shoots For The Man on The Moon

Lupe was filmed throwing shade at Cudi during an in-concert freestyle.

Honestly, I can’t blame Lupe for not feeling all that warm about the Cudder, who’s been acting pretty childish on Twitter for the past year. He went from calling Lu the only real person in the industry who lent a hand, to Poopé Fiasco, a dweeb, and a thief. I can see dissing Lupe in maybe 2005 as a safe option, in the sense that you wouldn’t have a scrawny nerd running up on your block. However, Lu’s pretty jacked now, has martial arts training, and I need not remind you of his Chiraq roots.

Meanwhile Cudi’s been having enough trouble staying on beat, he doesn’t need to be starting beef with someone who will not hesitate to throw hands. Lupe’s been shining with Tetsuo & Youth as well as the pregame collection of tracks under “Tetsuo Season”. His rhyming and wordplay is arguably peaking again, it wouldn’t be wise to against him. Especially considering Cudi’s last few tracks have been sounding like a teenager’s first hour in Garageband.

If anything good is to come from this situation, it will probably be in a lesson for fans of both artists. Don’t diss the people you came up with. Gift of Gab laid it out for the rap world,

“And the same faces that he dissed, on his way, to the top
Laughed as they watched him do the downstroke”
