It was a woof of a day on Dec. 9 when legendary college and pro football announcer Kirk Herbstreit came out to celebrate a thrilling sports season at Raising Cane’s.
The Sports Emmy winner and his famous golden retriever, Peter, traded in the call box for the Raising Cane’s counter. The dynamic duo barked up a fetching day filled with fun and good eats at the Nashville Flagship to celebrate football season on Lower Broadway and to work a “shift” behind the counter

The recent combo of the action-packed Conference Championship Weekend, the final “College GameDay” show of the regular season, and the announcement of Heisman finalists worked up a big appetite for chicken fingers and fries. Herbstreit and Peter brought the excitement to Music Town as the commentator got on the mic behind the counter to order up fun and Craveable Chicken Finger Meals.

Raising Cane’s and Herbstreit have a long partnership. Recently, Herbstreit was the face of Raising Cane’s Football Campaign, which ran to align with college football season.
“I’m good friends with Todd (Graves) and Raising Cane’s has become a great partner of mine. I travel all over to campuses during the season and it’s fun to see Cane’s at every one of them,” he told an audience at the restaurant as to why he was present. “I’m a chicken snob and the Chicken Fingers have always stood out to me and make me come back again, again and again.”

And staying in true form, he took time in between cash register duties to get candid about his thoughts about CFP contenders and the upcoming bowl season. His expert predictions, even get saucy and hot with his pro football thoughts for the NFL Draft and Super Bowl.
From the gridiron to the kitchen, it was all part of a game well-played of good sportsmanship and friendship by these team players. One Love was felt all around the room in this ultimate tail-gate celebration. While Herbstreit enjoyed a go-to Box Combo and signature Cane’s sweet tea during a break from his second “shift” with Cane’s, Peter took a moment to play it up and paw sign autographs for fans who love the pup as much as the sports analyst.

Founded across from the North Gates at LSU in Baton Rouge, Raising Cane’s has been part of college football since day one. As fans across the nation rally behind their teams this fall, Cane’s is right there with them, serving hand-battered, cooked-to-order Chicken Fingers, crispy crinkle-cut fries, buttery Cane’s Toast and the MVP of every bite, Cane’s Sauce.
“Kirk and I have been good friends for years and share similar passions for many things, including our families and friends, dogs, and college football. It was great having Kirk and Peter out to our Raising Cane’s Nashville Flagship today to talk about the College Football Playoffs matchups and the Heisman nominees,” said Graves.
