The rappers announced that they’ll be giving their fans not one, but two albums respectively this year.
Reclusive rapper Kid Cudi hasn’t dropped a single in a year, but that’s all changing. In a series of tweets, the Day ‘N’ Night singer gave us a glimpse into his thought process and after a 3 year hiatus since his biggest hit, proclaimed that he’s “making more heat” with two new albums this year.
In an Instagram post, Cudi revealed the title to one of his albums: Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin. The album’s eerie title may be in reference to his recent emotional rants on social media and the supposed ‘death letter‘ that he wrote to his fans last year.
Cudi already has fans hyped, as he announced on Twitter that Travi$ Scott is confirmed to be featured on the album. An official drop date hasn’t been released, but Cudi says that one album is coming out in the Summer and the other in the Fall.
Rapper, Lil Wayne took another course of action in announcing his big news. In a YouTube video, Wayne said “I want y’all to know I got two new albums coming y’all way.” In the now viral video, Wayne was also heard taking jabs at former friend and business partner Birdman. Wayne hyped up the crowd as he chanted “F**k Birdman!”
The beef between the two first started in 2014 when Wayne claimed that Birdman’s label Cash Money was refusing to let Wayne release his album. Then, in January, Wayne sued Birdman and Cash Money for over $50 million in an effort to get out of his contract. The highly publicized fight took off from there and escalated in April when Wayne’s tour bus was shot up, with Birdman and Young Thug being called in to question as suspects.
In the midst of it all, Wayne is still moving forward with releasing two albums. We suspect one of those albums may be the highly anticipated Carter V, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
