Singer and actress Jordin Sparks is releasing her first Christmas album as she gears up to perform in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Sparks spoke about life during quarantine with her husband Dana Thomas and two-year-old son DJ. She said she’s been keeping busy by having ‘dance parties’ with her family, reading and relaxing by the pool.
And while she’s been having fun during the lockdown, Sparks has also been hard at work. This summer the American Idol winner released her EP Sounds Like Me and she’s preparing to release her Christmas album titled Cider and Hennessy on November 27.
She’ll be performing her song “Merry Christmas To Your Face” from the album during the 94th Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“I was really surprised when they called because honestly, I thought that it wasn’t going to happen this year and I’m really happy that they asked me to be part of such a longstanding tradition here in America,” she said. “And plus for me since I’m releasing a Christmas album, I’m going to be performing a song from it.”
“My performance is going to be fun!” she added.
Sparks will be performing on the Kalahari Resorts float decorated with elephants and other animals. She’s currently vacationing at Kalahari Resorts in Round Rock, Texas, and gushed over all the amenities at the water park. Sparks said she feels safe staying there during the pandemic because the resort is at half capacity and is taking necessary safety measures.
She says this year she’s grateful for “so many things”.
“I just have so much gratitude whenever I wake up in the morning. I’m grateful for the roof I have over my head at home, my family, our health,” she said.
