Chicago songwriter Ivory Scott is preparing to debut as a musical artist by releasing his first album, MUD (Music U Desire), on March 28, 2025.
“We all been to that place in our life where it’s like man I want to quit” says Scott. The album will have 14 songs sharing the importance of patience and resilience during hardship. His fans can expect a fusion of hip-hop and R&B. This album features some of hip-hop and R&B’s favorite artists like 2 Chainz, Yung Bleu, Kevin Gates, Queen Naija, and Tink. Ivory says, “99 times really embodies the energy of the album.”
“99 Times” is Scott’s latest single, in which he raps about turning every setback into motivation. Scott says he likes to consider himself a woke artist that’s fun. Before developing into an artist, he says songwriting has always been an outlet for him to communicate.
His undeniable talent for songwriting gained recognition in 2019 when he received his first publishing deal. He has written for artists in many genres, like Beyonce, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Trippie Redd, Yung Bleu, and many more. The artist has also been recognized as part of SiriusXM + Pandora’s Next “Artist Accelerator” program, making him one of the most exciting new voices in R&B and Hip-Hop.
He shared that his journey to where he is now was not easy. From working long hours in construction to sleeping in his car in Los Angeles, all to pursue his music career. Ivory Scott is ready to step from writing behind the scenes and share his story of struggle to success through MUD. The album will include raw, unapologetic, and fun records meant to motivate his listeners. “If this is your only life, you have, you mine as well max out,” said Scott. Ivory says he loves to perform, and you can expect him to appear on stage this Spring and Summer with some of his peers. Ivory Scott is one to watch, as this is just the beginning for him.
