Joy Mangano, inspiration for the film “Joy”, had record breaking sales on her HSN special Jan. 3.
Mangano researched and developed the new iteration of her famous Miracle Mop sold to HSN customers. Already approved by Good House Keeping, the new mop features a quick release removal system for easy cleaning. The new material of the mop protects as it polishes a variety of surfaces.
The film Joy starring Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro is inspired by Mangano’s start in her household product enterprise. Mangano went on to invent several hits including the original Miracle Mop, Huggable Hangers, My Little Steamer and the Memory Cloud Pillow. The film is nominated for two Golden Globes this weekend including Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for Jennifer Lawrence.
Bill Brand President of HSN said in a statement, “If there is one item that put Joy on the map, it is her legendary Miracle Mop.” During the special Director of HSN David O. Russell surprised Mangano calling in to purchase 13 of the new mops.
