Inside Hornitos Mex Gala: NYC’s Ultimate Cinco de Mayo Party

While the Met Gala made headlines on Monday, another kind of celebration was creating its own spotlight, rooted in culture, community, and tequila. On Monday, May 5th, The Knockturnal celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style with Hornitos Tequila at their first-ever Hornitos Mex Gala and it was a night to remember.

What was once a cozy, laid-back neighborhood bar and restaurant, The Supply House on the Upper East Side, transformed into a bold and vibrant fiesta for the occasion. The space was reimagined with festive décor, glowing accents, and a lively atmosphere that honored Mexican culture turning this beloved local spot into the ultimate Cinco de Mayo destination for the night.

While the exclusive Met Gala took place just down the street, Hornitos Tequila was busy throwing a gala of their own, one that was unapologetically inclusive. The Hornitos Mex Gala was a celebration for everyone, filled with fresh margaritas, casual fashion, music, food, dancing, and more. Guests enjoyed specialty tacos, chips and salsa, quesadillas and more.

Keyla Monterroso Mejia, star of AppleTV’s The Studio and HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, teamed up with Hornitos to extend the invite far and wide and she pulled up in full celebration mode. She was joined by Broadway star Jordan Fisher, fashion designer Ari Serrano, and award-winning bartender Andrei Ichim. DJ Saige brought the sounds of the night, while signature cocktails like the Hornitos Mex Gala Margarita, Paloma, and Ranch Water kept spirits high.

As New Yorkers celebrated in the Upper East Side, tequila lovers across the country joined in from home hosting their own Hornitos Mex Galas with just a bottle of Hornitos and the official Mex Gala Spotify playlist.
