Eyebeam Hosts 20th Anniversary Benefit: Fête of the Future

Within the confinements of the industrial yet chic venue at the Wythe Hotel, gathered vibrant beings in celebration of 20 years of inspiring technology and art infusion.Eyebeam is an innovative platform for artists to engage with technology and for new ideas, as well as career-launching support for hundreds of artists and creative technologists. Ultimately, Eyebeam’s mission is to shift the global conversation around society’s relationship with technology through art being that it’s more urgent than ever.

Honoree Paola Antonelli, who, is the Senior Curator of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art expressed: “In this 20 years art has changed and technology has changed but not that much, we’re all looking for the same kind of way to express ourselves through technology to follow the times, and more into the future and Eyebeam has always been a great platform and a great trampoline not just for artists but for people like me, curators in Eyebeam”.

Also in attendance was Mitchell Baker, Executive chairwoman of the Mozilla Foundation and Corporation who also received an honoree award.

The benefit also featured a silent auction to forward the future of Eyebeam, followed by a musical performance from eminent multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of the band Cibo Matto, Yuka C. Honda and strings composer and vocalist Jasminfire.
