Experimental Toronto Artist Omari Jabari Drops “Homesick”

Omari Jabari has been a pervasive face in Toronto’s underground producing, art-directing and MCing himself into precariously impossible situations like parlaying with de facto Hip-Hop gatekeeper Nardwuar or playing his beats for budding superstars Ski Mask The Slump God and “Lucid Dreams” maestro JuiceWRLD at Vancouver’s brand-new Breakout Festival.

“Homesick” produced by Kodak Black producer Skipondabeat is a rather sordid look at how he views the world and despite being agreeable as a bouncy, melodic record, stirs controversy by pointing out the overly self-conscious approach of downtown Toronto in assessing authenticity. It’s the second single from his forthcoming project “FM 786” slated to drop June 21st. Having produced on OVO Sound artist Roy Woods project “Waking at Dawn” (Menace) and the proud owner of a critically-acclaimed “Martyr” EP, Omari is poised to have an interesting 2018 if this Limited Vision-directed video is any indication.
