On May 1st, 2020, one of Australia’s hottest rising acts, Kian released his highly anticipated new single, “Every Hour”.
Since catching the music world’s attention in 2018 with the song, “Waiting”, singer-songwriter Kian has gone double platinum, scored an ARIA nomination and amassed over 50 million streams on Spotify. The song eventually went on to win one of Australia’s biggest radio station’s annual competition, the Triple J unearthed High Award; where he beat out over 11,000 submissions.
Not bad for an artist who penned his break out hit when he was only fourteen.
Growing up in the small Victorian city of Castlemaine, just 2 hours outside of Melbourne; Kian was immersed in music from a young age. His father, a director of Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, exposed Kian to a wide variety of cultures and communities that greatly influenced his songwriting and his deeply felt connection to performing.
Described in his own words, his new single Every Hour represents finding “safety within a relationship and being able to have trust in one another, to motivate each other”.
Teaming up with Jerome Farrah, the same producer for Waiting, Every Hour is a throwback RnB track that makes you want to snuggle up in your bed and let its lush strings, laid back kick drums and soothing vocals take you out of this world.
Coordinating the release of his single with a new hair cut; this track signifies a new chapter in his life. Every Hour is a love song inspired by real-life events that is bound to recreate the magic that propelled Kian to the public’s eye.
