Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim discuss Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant with The Knockturnal‘s Kinsey Schofield in this exclusive interview.
Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant is an action-packed adventure film that tells the story of US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). The Sergeant is furious when it’s revealed that Ahmed used to work for the opposition. Initially clashing, Ahmed fights to prove his loyalty and value to Sergeant Kinley. Egos collide but both men find themselves at the mercy of each other after an ambush. Ahmed goes above and beyond to rescue Kinley… putting his young family in danger. Upon recovery, Kinley is horrified to discover that Ahmed’s family was not brought to America as he was promised. Now on their enemy’s radar, Sergeant Kinley insists on returning to combat to collect Ahmed and his family before they are found by their foes.
The film features several familiar faces like Jonny Lee Miller (The Crown), Antony Starr (The Boys), and Jason Wong. Wong has also starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen and Wrath of Man.
If you’re looking for a movie that celebrates honor, integrity, and principles… Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant is the film for you. Sergeant John Kinley and Ahmed are superheroes without the armor. One of the most incredible displays of courage and loyalty ever portrayed on film.
Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant hits theaters on April 21, 2023.
