Demián Bichir stars in the Showtime series Let The Right One In, which premiered on October 9th.
Let The Right One In was inspired by the Swedish novel and film of the same name created by John Ajvide Lindqvist. This ten-episode series is a mystery thriller that centers around vampires, family, sacrifice, and revenge. The show focuses on the characters Mark and Eleanor, played by Bichir and Madison Taylor Baez. This father-daughter duo must work together to maintain secrets and keep one another alive. Throughout various episodes, viewers will see how the protagonist’s choices affect those around them intentionally or by coincidence.
After years of moving from place to place, Mark and Eleanor settle in New York City while a string of violent murders begins to occur. Mark is a great chef who puts his life on pause after Eleanor is attacked and transformed into a vampire. During this time, Mark begins to kill to ensure his daughter’s survival and maintain his promise to his deceased wife. As each episode progresses, viewers are offered a better understanding of the characters and story development.
The Knockturnal spoke with Bichir about the show and what he hopes fans take away from it. He also discussed his upcoming projects, which include a role opposite Salma Hayek in Angelina Jolie’s, Without Blood, releasing in 2023.
