Exclusive: Danny A. Abeckaser, David James Elliott, and Eytan Rockaway Talk New Film ‘Lansky’ [Video]

Danny A. Abeckaser and David James Elliott star as FBI Agents Greg Kunz and Frank Rivers in Eytan Rockaway’s “Lansky,” a film that Rockaway wrote and directed based off of actual conversations that took place between his father and gangster Meyer Lansky prior to his death.

The film follows writer David Stone, portrayed by Sam Worthington, as he receives the opportunity of a lifetime to speak with Lansky, the Godfather of organized crime, in his final months before he dies. Academy Award nominee Harvey Keitel stars as Lansky, who reveals the truth of his mysterious life to Stone while Agents Kunz and Rivers are close behind, desperate to locate Lansky’s supposed nine-figure fortune.

With an all-star cast including Keitel, Worthington, Abeckaser, Elliott, Minka Kelly, David Cade, John Magaro, and AnnaSophia Robb, Lansky is packed full of both talent and thrills, and is set to be the crime-drama of the summer.

“The cast was amazing all around,” Rockaway says. “I think that when people watch the movie, the performances speak for themselves.”

Abeckaser and Elliott discuss filming on location in Alabama, favorite memories from production, and more. Rockaway discusses the inspiration for the film, his favorite scenes to write and direct, working with the cast, and more.

Lansky hits theatres, VOD, and digital on June 25.
