Stop by Sony Square NYC until November 30th to try your hand at racing with TAG Heuer and Gran Turismo Sport; you could win big!

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has a lot on its plate these days. TAG Heuer just announced a unique partnership with Sony: TAG Heuer serves as Gran Turismo Sport’s Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. It’s the first time the brand has partnered with a leading video game publisher. No doubt, this is a fascinating brand move that truly brings a degree of realism to the Gran Turismo Sport game, something fans of the franchise crave. But that’s not all: at a charming event at Sony’s brand experience space in NYC, TAG Heuer and elite IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi commemorated the partnership by revealing the Autavia Heuer 02 Jack Heuer Limited Edition, a timepiece made legendary by racing drivers in the 1960s, updated with a new Heuer-02 calibre proprietary chronograph movement. Jack Heuer himself designed the new re-issue, which will be limited to 1932 pieces in reference to his birth year.

For the launch event, guests were able to race against IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi in Gran Turismo Sport on Playstation 4. It’s a vivid and truly realistic game- right down to the TAG Heuer details and the Aston Martin spec car. We even joined in and came in third place in the tournament and won a copy of the game! We definitely didn’t #DontCrackUnderPressure, but a few did walk away. So much for New Yorkers knowing how to drive!

This is just the start to the larger Sony Grand Prix Tournament, which will continue through the week and offer consumers the opportunity to win a Connected Modular 45, the brand’s latest offering of its popular smartwatch. Be sure to stop by during the week and explore TAG Heuer’s impressive lineup (including the new timepieces) and see how the brand has maintained its racing routes, beginning with the Time of Trip to today’s Carrera Heuer 01 models and even rare Monaco Gulf Special Edition and Autavia re-editions.

TAG Heuer was recently unveiled as the game’s Official Timekeeper and Official Watch, the first time the brand has partnered with a leading videogame publisher. The Gran Turismo Sport video game integrates TAG Heuer through time keeping, track side banners, rankings, countdowns and car branding. The game also features a TAG Heuer museum section, where players can learn about notable events in the history of auto racing and TAG Heuer. Each Museum “story” is brought to life by imagery and text.

This serves as a new benchmark in rich brand experiences as well as incorporating new approaches for each partner. After all, Gran Turismo Sport selected TAG Heuer as the game’s first non-automotive partner and the exclusive watch partner. TAG Heuer is always at the forefront of innovation and is a leader in the automotive world, and that now extends to the virtual world of racing. Check it out!
