On The Scene: The DL’s Fifth Birthday!

On Wednesday, August 18th “The DELANCEY & LUDLOW” a future forward nightclub/eatery celebrated its 5-year anniversary.

Located at 95 Delancey Street the DL aka Dining and Ludlow gathered its regulars of hippies, suits, foodies, and explorers, to commemorate 5 years of business. With three DJ’s playing anything from the top 40, Pop, House, and R&B, everyone was able to find common ground amongst the festivities of the building.

I had an amazing time celebrating the nightclubs 5th birthday. The drinks and hors d’oeuvres were perfect, but no match for the breathtaking views of the lower east side. Not to mention the rainforest set up. Honestly, this floor felt more like a futuristic after work theme park instead of a nightclub! There were all different types, and kinds of people hanging out, and sending video messages to the future via a pop up Incubate app hiding in the bushes. Although this club is still pretty new it’s an advanced, complex building, with many features.

There are three tiers to the DL. The dining room on the first level is a spacious low-lit restaurant with windows from the ceiling to the floor. And, “a steak so good you don’t even need gravy!” says a loyal foodie. The second floor is the dance floor. The windows are completely covered, there’s a bar, a sizable space to let loose, and limited seats. This floor pretty much supplies you with all you need to tune out, and focus on becoming one with the music. If you want to cool down you go up to the top floor to the lounge and feel the cool breeze until it’s time to go.

Though many lower East side spots have multiple levels, the atmosphere is what makes this location stand out! There are three different environments to choose from and “People come here to have a good time.” So with the DJ setting the tone on each floor “the best part of the night is the customers trying to leave the building like nothing happened but, leaving with a great night written all over them,” says a staff member. The first floor is classier; the restaurant has glass chandeliers and a golden glow to it. The Red Room or the second floor is the place to dance the night away to some reggae/Caribbean tunes. When you’re ready to cool off, just go all the way up to the jungle or the third floor. The convertible rooftop lounge has plants, palm trees and vines climbing the walls, and hanging from the ceilings. This rooftop allows you to sit back and gaze up at the stars until you feel like dancing on the spacious dance floor. So, no matter what you are feeling the DL will match it.

The DL attracts such a diverse crowd and no WONDER! From the different DJs, skyline views, scenery, and the retractable roof, this club is irresistible and futuristic. It’s the perfect mix of purpose, and wonder that allows all people to escape. Book your next event here under the stars, in the Red Room, or on the yummy ground floor.
