Indian Filmmaker Shaunak Sen’s film All That Breathes won the Documentary Feature prize. The film follows two brothers who attempt to save birds in Delhi from the heavy amounts of air pollution within the city. Sen describes his motivations for the film as a triangulation of “air, bugs, and humans,” told from a perspective that touches on the ecological, emotional, and political aspects. In January, All That Breathes was a part of the world premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2022 and won the Grand Jury Prize in World Cinema Documentary Competition.

All three of these directors were recognized for their meaningful and impactful stories that reach various levels of entertainment. Each of their stories focuses on different topics and offers compelling storylines for a wide range of viewers.

The evening was presented by Blue Moon Brewing, Cadillac, GreenSlate, Justin Wines and Fiji Water. We had the honor of attending the Gala as a guest of Blue Moon. Blue Moon Brewing Company takes pride in the quality and creativity of its beers and embraces the process it takes to get there. Their founder and head brewmaster dreamt up Blue Moon while living and learning in Belgium. The beer was first brewed at the Sandlot Brewery in Denver in 1995. Years later, they still pull inspiration from the people and places around them.
