The Brooklyn Mirage has made its long-awaited return. Opening weekend set the tone for a stellar incoming season.
Bushwick’s outdoor house and techno haven, The Brooklyn Mirage, finally opened the doors to its castle-like structure to the public with its first major party of the year, Cityfox: REGENERATE. Having originally opened in 2015, The Brooklyn Mirage has continually proven to play a major role in shaping NYC’s one-of-a-kind nightlife scene. Combining efforts with longtime their longtime partner – party promotion company Cityfox Experience – the sold-out event left guests yearning for what’s to come.
The massive opening event boasted three unique stage and lounges, brand-new food options, unparalleled sound and art installations, and performances from the world’s most sought-after electronic DJs. In addition to its trademarked open-air stage and its dark, sweaty, and compact Kings Hall cove, the Mirage introduced a brand-new dancing nook: The Village. Tucked away behind the far-left wing of the massive complex, The Village served as a temporary home for local DJ Hiyawatha, Anjunadeep mainstay 16BL, techno chameleon Clarian (live), and the eclectic Acid Mondays.

Guests who were keen on indulging in house and tech-house’s upbeat, energetic kicks and rolling vocals headed to the steamy King’s Hall, which – albeit occasionally too hot – served as the perfect alcove to offset the cold and rainy weather outside. The surrounding walls absorbed the electrifying sounds of Lauren Ritter, a breathtaking live set from Monolink, Keinemusik head honchos &ME + Adam Port, and a closing set from Patrick Topping. The energy inside of King’s Hall was unlike that of anywhere else inside the venue, giving the illusion that guests were being teleported to a disco/house haven located in another dimension.
Off Brand Project for The Brooklyn Mirage
The main attraction was, of course, The Brooklyn Mirage stage itself, which hosted performances from Rachel Torro, a special set from &ME + Adam Port, Sous Music founder Anja Schneider, an otherworldly live set from Recondite, and Diynamic & Afterlife staple Adriatique. Cityfox / Brooklyn Mirage frequenters have often said that a Brooklyn Mirage party wouldn’t be complete without a little rain, and this party was no exception. The rain began coming down during Recondite’s set, a coincidence so perfect that it almost seemed planned. The outdoor portion of the venue gradually became overridden with a sea of ponchos swaying to the eerie, immersive beats provided by the German DJ/producer. The rain picked up the pace as Adrian Shala – half of Adriatique, as Adrian Schwiezer was not able to make it due to a medical issue – took over the decks, but no one stopped dancing. There are few places in the world where guests are unfazed and united by less-than-ideal weather conditions; New York City is certainly one of them. Nearing the climax of Adriatique’s sublime set, the energy coating the air reminded us why we dance until the break of dawn.
Like many parties, Cityfox: REGENERATE faced a couple of last-minute shortcomings, including a visa-related issue resulting in the cancelation of Hot Since 82’s participation and an illness-related absence from Adrian Schwiezer, half of Adriatique. Nevertheless, the show had to go on. &ME + Adam Port supplemented Hot Since 82’s slot with an extended set, showering fans with their innovative, introspective take on techno and house. Despite its hurdles, the party deemed nothing short of spectacular.
